The in-person figures already include travel, so there's no surprise line added later. Two siblings taught back to back on the same visit carry travel once, which puts the second hour at the online rate. Intensive summer courses for 11+ are booked as a block; ask and I'll quote.

Sarujan

Founder & tutor

Hi, I'm Sarujan. I'm a final-year Electronic Engineering student at the University of Manchester with three years of tutoring behind me, running Charge Up Tutors.

I teach GCSE sciences, A‑level maths and physics, and 11+ preparation, including intensive courses over the summer.

Mechanics, calculus and electricity aren't revision topics for me. They're the maths I used this summer on a placement with National Grid, working on subsea cable design for an HVDC link between Scotland and England.

That matters at A‑level more than it sounds. When a student asks why they're integrating something, I can tell them where it actually goes, which holds attention better than "it's on the spec".

I build my own worksheets rather than handing out past papers alone, and I mark written work between sessions so the hour we have goes on the parts that went wrong. Most of my students are on AQA or OCR.

HOW IT RUNS

What a term with me looks like

  1. A free 45-minute trialWe take one topic the student is stuck on. You see how they respond to me before any money changes hands.
  2. I find the actual gapThe problem in Year 11 maths usually started in Year 9. I'd rather spend the second session fixing that than drilling exam questions on a shaky foundation.
  3. We work a topic ahead of schoolSessions cover material shortly before class reaches it, so the student walks in having already seen it. Homework then becomes the check on whether it landed.
  4. You get told the truthA short note after each session on what we did and what didn't stick. If I don't think I'm the right fit, I'll say so and point you elsewhere.
